Course Description

You are familiar with computers and the way they work. Computers have contributed to the rise and spread of the Internet, which has now become the driving force for the networked communities around the globe. In this course, you will use products from Google such as Google Chrome, Google Mail, Google Desktop, iGoogle, and Google Maps to take full advantage of all that the Internet has to offer.

Course Objective:

You will use Google gadgets and applications to communicate, collaborate, obtain, and download information from the Internet.

Target Student:

This course is designed for any computer professional who may be new to, or needs to learn Google for web access, office productivity, and communication.

Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • explore and customize the Google Chrome user interface.
  • browse websites using Google Chrome.
  • obtain information from the web using the Google search engine and Google Maps.
  • communicate over the web.
  • manage information using bookmarks, alerts, and RSS feeds.
  • configure the privacy settings and pop-up settings in Google Chrome.

Prerequisites:

Students should have a basic understanding of Windows, including how to use files and folders.
